There are usually two types of people when it comes to weight, those who find it easy to gain weight but difficult to lose it, and those who find gaining weight virtually impossible.
Having been in the latter situation myself, I know how frustrating it can be. You think you’re eating all you can yet the scales resolutely stay at the same level. This is a common trait of an ectomorph (small bones, naturally skinny).
However it is really simple, everyone can gain weight. You’re just not eating enough calories. I would hazard a guess that you’re not counting your calories either.

“Guessing how many calories you’re eating is like pouring your morning coffee with your eyes shut.”

Guessing how many calories you’re eating is like pouring your morning coffee with your eyes shut. Sometimes you’ll pour far too much and it will overflow, other times you’ll miss and half fill the cup. Either way you’re losing out!
I would recommend you start by counting how many calories you are eating on your average day, and compare it to how many calories our simple calorie calculator estimates you should be eating.
If you’re eating less than the calorie calculator stipulates, increase your calories to that level. If you’re already eating more than it suggests (and you’re healthy) try increasing your daily calorie intake further by approximately 100 kcal and monitor how it affects your weight. If there’s still no weight gain after a week, increase it again and repeat until you do.
Using this method you can guarantee you will eventually find a daily calorie intake that will result in weight gain, whether it is for muscle gain or purely to gain some weight.
